I'm just looking for your opinions really - I've advertisied this pony and I suppose I want to make sure my price is realistic. Here's the ad...

14.2hh 10yr Old Registered Connemara Gelding.
A well bred boy who oozes potential.
This pony works very correctly in the school and has a bold scopey jump. He is also showing an aptitude for dressage.
This pony has shown succesfully both in hand and under saddle.
He will excel in any sphere and would ambitious teenager or adult wanting to go far.
100% box, clip, catch etc.

A bit of back ground, He's been with us for 6 years, jumps like a stag, is quick against the clock, Beautiful mover etc.
He's being sold as his owner has recently had a baby and really doesn't have the time for him. he's basically wasting away.
What would you expect the price to be?

more than i could afford but i want him! he sounds lovely!
Does he have comp record/winnings? That would increase again. I'd say about 3k without, more with.

Unfortunately no affiliated winnings as owner just hasn't had the time for him.
He pulled 2nd at county show last year in M&M Lge breeds, he's a fantastic WHP too.

Sounds like a good allrounder, and at 10yo i'd say you could prob ask for £3.5k but be prepared for offers in current climate. Or send him to me on loan

We'd love him to go out on loan, but unfortunately circumstances dictate that he needs to be sold.
I'm encouraged by your pricing - I've put him up for slightly more than that as he's got a beautiful saddle and perhaps a few rugs to go with him.
But if you know anyone.....Not that i'm advertising!

if the price includes tack and rugs, make sure you mention that as it can be a huge selling point, people will be more likely to spend a little more knowing they don't have to buy expensive extras as well

Between £5,000 and 7,000 if he is genuinely 14.2 and no bigger and has a LHC and he has no ailments and is easy to handle and hacks out alone.

Sounds like he has a lot going for him

Connemara's are the most popular and expensive of all the native breeds
He has come 2nd at a county show
He jumps well so could be a worker

If you can advertise him on the connie society website.

Life Height certificate - there are a lot of overheight connies some of them are advertised at 14.2 when they are a bit over and then their owners get disappointed when they are measured out as to show a connie needs to be 14.2 or under.
