Just wondering if anyone could help me? Need to sell this saddle as it doesnt fit Molly. I was told it was a Heather Moffatt one, but can't find that anywhere on it, so i'm guessing it isnt?! It just says "Thorowgood" and "Griffin". Can't find any on eBay to compare prices to.

It's a 17". Not sure what width....possibly medium/wide?
No marks or damage. Will be cleaned up properly before being sold.
Anyone have any ideas?!

Thanks very much.

thats not a heather moffet.. h m are leather and will fit any horse.. if it is in good condition you would be looking at 150 to 125.. really.

If it was a hm you'd be looking at 600 lol

Unfortunately synthetics don't seem to make much second hand! I've got a Wintec Isabelle Werth and when i bougth a leather saddle the saddler said he would give me £50 part x! I ended up hanging onto it as i thought it would be more useful for future youngsters than the £50 off the new saddle!

Yeah, that's what i said to the loaner who had Moll at the time. She said it was HM, but to be honest, i didnt care as long as it fitted. We gave loaner the money to buy it, without seeing it - trusted loaner to know whether it fitted or not. Got Moll back, and guess what...doesn't even NEARLY fit! Way too narrow!

So just need to get rid now!

Heather Moffett did design a saddle in conjunction with Thorowgood, so thats probably what it is. Have a good look on ebay, and then you can see the prices they make aswell.

Haha! Thanks Helen!

I was so peed off about it! We'd already spent £800 on getting Moll a 'made-to-measure' Cardanel Event saddle, because she's such a stupid shape...and that turned out to not fit either!!! Sold that, but only got £300 back for it.

Thankfully, we're now sorted

(having lost a lot of money

), but this one is of no use to us, so may as well sell it...just had no idea how much for!

Also not sure whether to take it to the Beeston saddlery sales, or just put it on eBay. I HATE saddles!!! We should all just ride bareback!!!

Is there any possibility that it may be of use in the future for new horse or baby? I bought the same saddle brand new from my saddler a month ago for my shire boy. Saddler had been looking for nearly a year to find second hand saddle to fit his awkward shape. In the end I had to buy this as anything else I had rubbed him. He has developed over the shoulder alot in one month and we will soon need to change the head! It also fits one of the other horses.

Where doesnt it fit her and is it not possible just to change the head?

No idea - can you do that with these?! Do you mean like you can change the gullets in Wintecs? She's like a barrell, with absolutely NO withers, so the whole thing's just too narrow. Shame, because it's really comfy! I love dressage saddles.

I really wish i could say it would come in useful in the near future, but i really can't see myself getting any more horsies for quite a while (just graduated from uni, so i'm poor, and mummy and daddy would pass out if i suggested them buying me another one!!!)

I wonder if it would fit Mo...?! Think she's too high-withered though. Will have a look tomorrow...

Was going to say I like your kitchen too!!!

I sold a Wintec dressage saddle a couple of years ago on ebay. Think it only cost £150 new. Hardly used it as it used to roll about and move forwards - the most I could get for it was £60.

Apart from the long girth straps I actually thought it was a GP.
