advise wanted for my friend please in feb she brought a youngster to work with and then sell on horsey was going really sweetly until 3 weeks later she went down with colic and had to be opperated on this has left a scar and a hernia when she was opperated on the vets removed a piece of flesh which was acting as a gastic band this caused her colic so she has no more risk of having colic again than any other horse.

so how much would someone pay for her ? she is about 15.2hh grey and white mare 4 years before op she was walk troting and cantering starting to come on an outline hacked out on busy roads and in fields with no fuss photos

if they dont work i will put them in photoshop
i should say she knows she will never get back what she spent on her and she will only be sold to a good home who will be told all her history, also whats the difference in price for now or brought back into work ??
thank you very much

If my vet could reassure me that she was at no more risk of colic in the future than any other horse then a scar wouldn't put me off in the slightest if she was nice in every other way.

For me I wouldn't even look at a horse as young as that which had already had colic and now also had a hernia.

So to me she'd be worthless but that's me.

Also there are too many horses out there that are good selling for £1200 + so you could struggle to find a buyer even at £800.
