Just curious really, not thinking of selling atm, but it is something we will be looking to do next year.

registered TB, bred by Teenoso. 15.2hh grey mare, 8 years old. Fabby showjumper, won approx £150 BSJA notional, £300+ actual in about 10 outings this season. Fast against clock, jumping discovery clear with ease, doing first newcomers on saturday. jumping 1.20m at home easily, could go alot higher. Never stopped showjumping...rarely has a pole. Evented PC all season at intermediate (3"3ft), pretty consistant jumper but needs to improve flatwork- although she goes beautifully at home and working in, tenses up in arena, but she is getting better. Jumped an open course clear. True hunter, not had chance to take her out yet due to f&m but we bought her as a hunter. Good to hack out/in traffic/ everything else, but is abit headshy.
Needs confident rider- although she isn't strong, she is very forward going, especially when jumping.

ETA: she has schooled over novice+ xcountry fences and we will be registering her with the BE next year.

depends what market you are selling to - if you sell as a jrn eventer horse then it could be around 10k mark plus?
depends what xc record is like!

im no good at estimating sj prices... only because i was looking for a jrn eventer at the start of the year! (never found one in my price bracket - got a youngster instead!

I would say 10,000-12,000 if she continues to perform as well , get BE points next year and passes a vetting.Sounds like a cracking horse!

we had a hiccup in the middle of the season xcountry, she jumped a 3"6ft trakhena and nearly stopped and because she is so honest she jumped from a stand still, and scraped her back legs badly. she lost abit of confidence and so did i, but now she is deffinately back on form and is pretty consistant- she went clear at intermedate area eventing, and my team manager wants us to do open eventing next year!

Depends on what market- as a Showjumper around the £6000-6500 mark don't know about other stuff lol

But since she hasn't affiliated BE and has a record to show, I would have thought the unaffiliated would not add to her value a great deal-at the moment she seems to be able to be aimed at the SJ market or allrounder market

Those are big figures on a horse unproven in eventing! I would say more like 4-5K until she actually does some BE. Sounds nice though.

ahh but depends - if you are selling in northern ireland you will get more money than you will make in england - here good horses are never for sale!

last year i looked at a nice grey who will probs never go higher than 1*, and had a stop at necarne internat. at the little drop fence that was rather easy - they were asking £50,000!!!!!! we left rather sharpish after that...

then at an event last week, Tiny Clapham was there with a friend and offered us a horse that had done 1* and would be a brill junior horse, for a steal at £30,000!!!!! again we politely said no...

then the father of my friend above knew we were looking a horse and gave my dad a number to a well known eventer, whose horses started at the £20,000! needless to say, we never looked at any of the horses...

and i got my boy who will be a cracking boy for a steal price! (a real one

so do some novices and 1* and you could see little $$ in your eyes

hmm...Interesting as my boy was available for a while at less than 10K-experienced at novice level. Most of the novice horses I've seen have been around 15K or slightly less.
Don't forget, this horse hasn't done novice yet or any affiliated so not worth more than my previous figure IMO. Would the initials of the eventer have had a J in them?

i know they are unproven, although people are open to speak to my pony club DC who knows her very well and knows how we have done. although, yes, am deffinately registering her BE and doing some pre novices, maybe one or two novices (i know a few nice novices which we have schooled round around here!), and then see how things go!

shes gone clear in a PC open/level 5 which is equivilant to a BE novice

although it isn't as good as proof from a BE record, am looking forward to affiliating her next season

yep thats my friend whose first name J and last name D! a nice person but tried also to sell us her old saddle (2nd hand) for £1000!! crazy money when you can get new for less than that

her dad gave us that no... im sure you know who her dad is lol!

even better, they live really close so i am allowed to go and use her facilities whenever i want as last year i worked as her groom for a month and a half when she was really stuck!

but ur boy is pretty successful in pc eventin and in eventin ireland, so he should be sellin at that price! lol

I would agree with you but the price I quoted referred to after the horse affiliated next year and as she sounded very consistant if she was to get some BE points at say pre novice she would certainly be worth that.I would certainly say more than 4 or 5 though .I know people paying that for an all rounder not affiliated riding club or pony club horse.I would say standing as it is now 6-6.5 atleast especially with the good showjumping record.

i think we spent too much on her at the start of the year when she hadnt even evented and won about £20 BSJA, all she had really done is hunted- oops
blush.gif

Only_me-we pulled him off the market after necarne, he's too good for me to sell!

Next year maybe yes depending on results but 6.5K could get you a current novice eventer. Depends on the area I suppose

But you bought her in the spring when horses are always dearer. You've had a lot of fun on her so I wouldn't worry about what you paid for her.
