I am likely to be selling my 16.3 /17HH MW hunter type gelding. He's 9 years old. He's done local ODE's, SJ and XC. He loads and travels well. Good to shoe and clip. Amazing bombproof hack alone or in company.

How much do you think I should advertise him for? I'm thinking £2500 with tack..??

If he is sound I would think he'd be snapped up for that

Ditto- Refreshing to see a sane opening bid-I would even say perhaps a little more (not too much mind

).

As long as he looks as good as he sounds, he'll be off your hands in no time at that price!

sounds far too cheap...if he has been placed at the competitions and they are of a decent height you could probably ask £4000 but if they are only small £3000 and obviously if you have been eliminated in all of them then £500.

Well the ODE was one where the seperate parts were judged individually, he came 2nd XC, nowhere SJ and last in the dressage (although Im told he and his loanee arrived late so had no chance to warm up etc)

He has jumped around 3ft, he could do higher, I've added a few pics to give a taster of what he's like. Thanks for the help guys, I don't want him to be over priced, like the one's Im looking to replace him with!

As I said; it is so freshening to see a horse realistically priced.

He is a lovely stamp- 2.5k and you would have him sold *clicks fingers* like that- Hell, if he was just a little younger I would have bitten your fingers off for him!

And don't listen to the people who say he is too cheap- He is just priced competitively to sell- A lot different to the silly prices you see on the market- But you'll always find someone with more money than sense buying the odd one.

A horse could be worth ££££, but if you price him out of every ones reach you'll never sell.

I would put him at £3K and let people bargain with you- They think they have gotten a bargain and money off, and you'll have exactly what you wanted in the first place!

I would imagine 4K would be appropriate, he does everything and presuming he is honest? Would suit a lot of people!

Oh yes he's brill, I bought him after 4 years off horses, he returned my confidence no end. The pic of us doing pairs was taken when I'd had him 2 months, that was my first competition. He's very honest and tries his heart out, if he's going to take a look at a jump, you know a mile off, no dirty stops with this boy!

He's a good lad, just a shame I cant afford two or I'd keep him

I agree with this! 3k is a perfect amount, as you can then expect to get knocked down a few hundred quid.
He is lovely and it is very refreshing to see a realistically priced horse.

He sounds fab. With that in mind, you wouldn't be pushing it going further up. Just really lay it on think how great he is and then you'll have no end of calls.

I hope you find him a lovely home.
