And not for a pony before you all groan

How much do you pay for an instructor to come to your yard? I want to aim for a walk trot test in April but would like some lessons first. I've had a couple of quotes but not sure if they're steep or not.

Does that include their travelling though hannah?

I'm going to have to pay travel on top of the lesson which looks like it's going to get a bit expensive

between 20 to 30 per lesson (lesson being around 45 mins to an hour til you reach the thats good lets stop here stage!) bear in mind your instructor has travelling time, lesson time, discussion time and insurance to cost in! costs also dependant on qualification, but try a couple of instructors and go with someone you enjoy and also pushes you!

£60 is the cheapest I've found so far (am in Shropshire) so it does look like it is a little steep. I'm not objecting to having to cover fuel/insurance costs etc, I'm just skint so I can't really afford to fork out that much.

£60 is pretty steep unless you are going for a really top notch dressage trainer...?
I would have thought you would be able to find someone who is £20 to £30. Can you ask around at your yard / local feed merchant / tack shop for cheaper recomendations?

Definitely do a bit of local research, tack shops, feed merchants, local riding clubs. £60 is a huge amount of money for a regular lesson. Fair enough if you are paying out for one time lesson with fantastic well known rider but for weekly lessons, ridiculous! I pay £30 for a private lesson, £20 for shared with 1 other
