Hi
I am going to look at a horse at the weekend and just wanted reassuring that he isn't overpriced!

He is 15.3 ID 8 yrs. Hasn't done anything out there, but is good mover, works on the bit, has just been used for hacking and schooling really. Can jump but not sure how high (yet)
Good in the field, sometimes headshakes but not always
Good to load/show etc. Sometimes can nap for home but is easily moved on.

Parents will probably ride him as well, as he is good weight carrier. Sort of an all rounder for us.

What would you say price wise?

I was lamenting horse prices the other day and how over priced things are ATM....in all honesty I probably wouldn't pay a huge amount for an 8yo that hasn't done anything, but then again the horses that tick my requirement boxes now are advertised for around 8K when they were 4K when was looking 4 years ago!

If he headshakes and naps then I wouldn't spend a fortune, I probably wouldn't buy him tbh as there are plenty of horses out there without these problems! I'd expect to see him advertised for about £2000 at the most. Out of interest how much is he, I agree with chestnut cob, the prices these days are ridiculous.

No more than £1k if he is a head shaker. It won't have had a chance to headshake much in the recent weather, but given a good summer, you could find yourself without a horse to ride.

Prices are just mental. Friend bought a genuine been there done that RC all rounder, age 9, when I bought my boy (3.5 years ago), really nicely marked coloured as well. Honest, jumps anything, easy to do etc etc. She paid 4.5K for him at the time, that sort of horse is on for twice that now at least!!

I agree with FMM, but I personally wouldn't buy a headshaker TBH. Friend at the yard has one and she can't get any sense out of him for most of the summer.

he is up for 3K, including tack. Not advertised as novice ride, second horse or upgrade I think is what they said! Nice grey though!

I also want to see this young welsh D, he is 14.2/3, 7 and green, but has fantastic paces, seen a video. Think he was 2K but can't remember, it's through a friend! He would be not useful for family to hop on though as bit small, but for me, ideal.
