Grey Mare went to Oakham yesterday with a suspected bobbered long digital extensor tendon.

She's okay! :D :D :D

Some fibrous damage to the tendon sheath and some pretty impressive swelling at the front of the hock, but no 'real' damage and no fractures of either bone or tendon :D :D :D (there's a vague chance of needing a keyhole op if the gel and the rest don't clear it up, but we'll worry about that if we get there). D was a star in doing towing duties, I was a nervous wreck stuck at work

So, after being on field rest since last Sepetember for sidebone, a kick or getting her leg caught in the fence about three or four weeks ago and then developing cellulitis, then the cantering on three legs which showed up the tendon issue last Friday, in six-eight weeks time we'll take her back to Oakham so they can check each end(!) and she can start work again :D :D :D. It was going to be in five weeks time, but as D1 will be doing her exams then, and GM is a little bit speshul, after the exams sounded like a much better bet :rolleyes::p

I am so very pleased and happy that GM lives to fight another day and D1 has her beloved horse. Makes my heart sing :D
