A HUGE thank you

just a very quick post, as extremely tired..... but could I say a HUGE thank you to all of the members who have sent PM's/Emails/texts regarding my son.....

For those that dont know - he underwent Open Heart Surgery on Thursday morning.

The operation went well and he was only in intensive care for approx 24 hours.... there were a few hairy moments with high blood pressure over night but that settled.... he had all the drains removed on Thursday evening! He was taken back to the ward at 2pm yesterday and by 6pm he was up and out of bed walking around, if not a little sore! However today he has felt it a bit as the pain killers have been reduced but he is recovering amazingly well.... and they hope that he will be able to come home tomorrow!!!!

So to all who have sent messages etc etc, made phone calls etc etc..... thank you so much.... you have kept me sane in a rather testing time!

That is very good news.

I was in Birmingham Children's hospital one long (very long) weekend with my son (after an accident) and we saw the little babies/toddlers that were in for heart operations. They arrived looking weak and ill, had the operation and looked wonderful, healthy, normal and went home before my son. The operation just seemed to be a miracle.

I'm sorry I wasn't aware of your son's operation - my nephew went through similar so I understand how scary and traumatising this is - I'm glad to hear he's ok and doing well - sending you a HUGE ((((hug)))))

thanks peeps! Going back today and hopefully he will be allowed home!!!! That is of course after I've been to see my boys again and issue more mummy cuddles to them!

Well a day later than expected but he's home!!!! Couldn't come home yesterday as he had a build up of fluid around the heart and this had to go down with medication first.... however another echocardiagram today and its only very slight, so discharged with medication and got to go back in two weeks for a check up!
But very pleased to be home!
