Thank you for that. When our best and modern day journalist focuses on his equal, but as a rider and a man, so we have a tribute which will have few comparisons.

As splashgirl, I too miss Down and feel that with the CH4 adjustments, relieving him of his role was a backward and regrettable step.

As an aside, does anyone know why channel 4 stopped using alistair down? I thought he was fabulous, not at all keen on the new team and judging by comments on rp and channel 4 fb pages, neither is anyone else..
