Was just wondering what weight this pony could carry. He is 13.3 hh and a middleweight.
I have the urge to ride him but i have put weight on over the years. Daren't weigh myself but will.

Would he? Thats good news, i know i can't be that. Shorter people always look bigger. I am getting excited now.
I get on so well with him and we have so many at the point of schooling now i had the mad thought of doing him.
Small enough for me to scramble on and not far to fall

We were at a show yesterday and i had the urge to want to take Tickles.
Looking for the scales fingers crossed

I've ridden a 13.2 and i'm nearly 13stone and 5ft 6. we did check ponio was confortable with it first but then galloped around the brecon beacons for the afternoon. When we got back YO said the pony was happiest she'd seen it in years, probs becuase as he was so small he normally had begginers bouncing around and jabbing him in the mouth but i just let him get on with it, he knows his way up and down a rocky path better than I do.

In a side note, weirdly it was the same horse i'd ridden 10 years earlier which is why YO thought i'd be fun if I rode him again. He's called friday and a welsh cob cross

13 stone would not be a problem. Gypsy cobs are very strong, and I am sure you said he is not that old, so he has loads of filling out to do.

My chap is 4, now going on 15.1 and is a similar build and is filling out fast - they don't stop until 7 - 8. He will be capable of carrying 15 - 16 stone no problem - so I don't have to worry about not having the occasional chocolate.

If he mine had more bone, he only has just under 9" he would carry 17 - 18 stone but there is a touch of TB lurking in Chancer.

They reckon on a stone per hand don't they? So a pony of 13hh could carry 13stone. Obviously you would have to use some common sense as a weedy TB type wouldn't be able to carry as much as a cob.

I am 9.5stone and sometimes ride a 13hh NF.
