A little advice please

i'll apologise in advance cause i bet you get alot of these.

me and one of my friends would really like to have a go at hunting this year but im not really sure where to start, i know there is a hunt near me cause i used to get stuck on the end every now and again by accident when out hacking. I don't know whether its atherstone hunt? it used to go round the ratcliff culey area ive been on the atherstone hunt website but cant really find the details i need.

Im just wondering how much it normally is to go hunting? and if you could just pay for one off hunts instead of subscribing. How would i find out dates of hunts? are they usually quite regular eg. every weekend or does it vary.

Im also a little nervous bout how ill need to turn out my mare as shes a chunky little native thing with a long bushy mane and never seems to look tidy lol would she have to be plaited up to hunt?

Hello,
Normaly you can pay for each day you go out but the cost varies from hunt to hunt you will need to ring the hunt secretary to find out how much your local hunt is and when they meet. Hunts normaly meet every saturday and atleast once in the week. (Weekday meets aare usualy quieter). As for the turn out of your horse if it is a native it doesn't need to be platted but needs to look smart. (bathed and clean tack etc). I hope this is of some help and you manage to get out and have a lovely time hunting is so much fun.

when people only come for one day they pay whats called a cap. they vary from about 10-15 pounds round my area. And also in my area we see the most fluffy an the most lean horses around where they have been pulled out a field the night before and tack thrown on them lol so turnout isnt as important down here. that is excluding boxing day, new years day ect where everybody has to be presentable lol
