A little bit excited, new horsey in the family!

As title really, just started looking for a horse on loan for my little bro (i say little he is 21) he has helped me with my 2 for the last 6 years and is the best groom ever only problem is he never got to ride much because my tb is loopy and my other is only a baby! He finally decided he wanted one of his own so we went to look at a ride and drive section d Gelding yesterday called oscar for loan possibly with view to buy in the future although the owner still wants to be able to drive him at the weekends sometimes! Gorgeous horse if a little bit green and fresh as he has been without a rider for some time. Owner is keen for us to trial him at Their yard for a month then we can move him down the road to be with my girls! Very excited for matty but a little nervous at the prospect of loaning as i've heard some very messy stories! Pointless post really so thank you for reading! Tea and Biccies for Dunking x x x

It's nice that your brother is going to be able to enjoy his own horse after 6 years of being a groom. Less help for you though.

Great idea to trial him on site for a month. That way at least your bro will know if they are going to get on and if there are any problems (which there won't be

) at least they won't be put down to settling in! It sounds like the owners want the best for the horse so I wouldn't anticipate any problems. You can always draw up a loan agreement so you know what's what. Hope they have a great time together. Just finished stables so def time for tea and a dunk!

Thankyou, yes i had seen the fatal flaw in the plan, less help for me Mmm... He he To be honest i'm chuffed to bits i'll be able to go some way towards repaying him for all his help! Definately think the month is a good idea! Matt is keen to get into endurance and long distance riding so hopefully he'll be able to live out his dream!
