Thanks in advance ; )

I have ordered 2kg chicken wings, 12 x 400g chicken mince and 10 x chicken carcasses....

Now for the question. Romeo is a mostly rottie 12 wk old pup who has been fed pedigree mostly dry with a little wet. His bank end STINKS lol thankfully so far has only deposited in the garden! Ive just read most of the raw sticky but im just confused as to how much is enough. I know its asking a lot but I just want to get it right with the ingrediants above what and how much would you feed. If anyone could do say a five day plan that would be magic. I know ill have to add more and have variety but thought sticking to chicken to start might be best? Also do I need to immediately buy anything else in the first week? Thank u all so much x

3% of projected adult weight. I'd base it on the rottie breed standard then adjust according to eye. There's no hard and gas rule. My two youngsters were big pups and are big adults so I upped the amount they got as they grew and I got used to raw feeding.

You're right to stick to one protein type at first. Add in one type at a time so you can see what he is ok with.

Probiotic natural yoghurt is good to ease the transition from dry to raw. Don't be amazed or worried if his poo is runny at first or if he throws up a little. (Obviously if he throws up lots, be concerned!) Dogs tend to drink less on raw.

Morrisons is fab for lamb breast (sold as 'lamb bones') and pork ribs are fab there, trotters when he's bigger. You really want green tripe, too, which can be a pain to source unless you use a company eg Dog Food bloke.

Read the first three pages of this, it will really help.

There are loads of people on here who can help. Ask away.

I find my puppy struggles with bones atm with his little teethies so you may need to take a hammer to the chicken if needed, but then again mine is a collie type so your rottie may fair better :)

Just make sure you dont over do it with bone, yes they need it but to much will cause constipation and an unhappy puppy

They recommend approx 10% of puppies weight. I have never really used this though. Just common sense really, my 4 month old doesnt get alot less than my adult dogs, he gets 2-4 walks a day so leads an active life and needs his food. If he got a bit chubby I would cut down just as if he dropped off at all he would have extra.

To break it down he would normally have this sort of meal set up for an average day
breakfast- 200kg minced chicken with 50kg of plain white rice
lunch- 100kg of turkey necks
dinner- 200kg of minced chicken with vegetable cut offs

So in total he gets about 500kg of meat a day and my adult dogs get about 600kg, for some this would probably be to much but as he gets so much exercise he needs plenty of grub to compensate for his work load plus keep him growing strong :)

Some people dont agree on some of the bits to add but my dogs love plain rice mixed in, vegetable pieces left over from dinner, even a bit of wheetabix occasionally :)

I'd have to disagree with the Weetabix: dogs really don't need cereal and it's the biggest cause of allergic reactions.

I don't specifically feed veg, but frozen carrots are great for teething pups.
