Hi, fairly new to the forum i have an ex-racer and, although he is lame at the moment, i have him registered for RoR and really want to do some of the qualifiers i have trailed round a million websites but still haven't figured out the system... anyone done any of it and can point me in the right direction?? Sorry seems stupid but can't make sense of it!?!?!

Welcome to the world of lame ex-racers. ROR have a diary page with all the shows listed. The website is very jumbled and not especially easy to navigate. Scroll down the diary dates and there is usually a link to the show organisers. The classes are pretty simple to understand. Plain showing you all go in and walk, trot, canter round (in varying degrees of control) and then you get called in. The judge rides then you remove the sadlle and trot them up for the confirmation judge. The challenge classes, you go in individually and jump a course of jumps, normally 6 rustic and 2 coloured. You either leave the ring straight after and come back in all together or you could do your individual show straight after the jumping to include walk, walk on a long rein, trot, canter and extended canter if room. The judge does not ride in this class but you may be asked to strip off and trot up (the horse - not you) This class is marked on a points system with marks deducted for a stop or bad riding etc etc. Theyre both good fun and its very sociable.
