So Finn went away for a couple of weeks to my trainer back in May. He had a super time there and did really well. He then had some down time in the field.
I posted a thread regarding his vet visit a few weeks ago, due to a bit of an unusual lump above his eye. Good news - x rays and biopsy showed nothing scary, just connective and scar tissue most likely caused by trauma that will settle on its own. Yayy!
After all clear from the vet we have been getting back to some in hand walking and have also been for a few hacks in company and he has been super. Leading the way for the whole ride this evening. So chuffed with him and he’ll now go back out in the field for a few weeks. It’s a very difficult balance as obviously he is only three, but he’s big and strong, with a quick brain so I think a couple of weeks gentle work then a month or so off seems to be a good pattern for him at the moment.
Please excuse me riding with one hand!! Really bad habit especially on a young horse, I honestly sometimes forget and relax a bit too much!! ??
