Not sure if this will make much sense but...
took the beastie to a combines training event today, did his dressage (prelim 4) out on grass, was lovely and chilled, got a fairly good mark (60%) placed us 8th out of 14. Took him to do his SJ (2'3''-2'6'') in a school, was really good, did a lovely clear, over a filler and multi coloured planks.
Took him back onto grass and did the 2'6''-2'9'' and he became like a thing possesed, vvvstrong and hard to stear, stopped at most of the fillers and they were dirty stops. He was also quite gobby and fighting the bit. The thing that's concerning me is that he'd jumped all the fillers before on grass in the same feild on Monday and had been as good as gold and then today was awful. I don't think I was too nervous as I'd done it on Mon and the fences had been bigger?????
So the question really is what could have made him be like that and change so much??? He's ridden in a hanging cheek snaffle with a running martingale if that helps??
Thankies in advance
