I was thinking of attempting to find out where my old boy came from, I sold him to one of my friends in Jan 10 and have recently seen her/been updated on how he is (being spoiled rotten :D ) etc I know its a VERY long shot but I thought I would try and find out where he came from. I bought him from our local dealers in summer 2004 who had just brought him straight in off the lorry from Ireland. He's 16/16.1hds and was around the age of 14 then (told by vet) so would be around 21 now. He's bay, bright bay in summer, with no white markings at all, black legs and nose, had wingalls and was quite flat footed (had what look like back shoes on front) no chip or passport. TB or TBX maybe? He had a tear in a muscle on his right hind quarters (which had healed, it looked like a dint on his bum) and he had a strange chin (maybe an old accident) it was as though the pointy bit of his chin was sunk in to his lip or he had had stitches between bottom lip and chin. He was skin and bone when I got him and covered in lice, poor man. But the most amazing horse I have ever ridden, very well schooled, constantly in an outline, leg yield, flying changes etc. He was very nervous in the stable, when we bought him it took me 2 weeks to be able to get near him in the stable without him climbing the walls, he didn't like doorways/narrow passages etc and either wouldn't walk through them or would rush. It was impossible to catch him in the field, you would never even get close, he would come to the gate when he was the last one in the field and I used to have to open the gate, let him walk out and then you could clip the lead rope on! Once you was on him though he became a different horse, he came alive. Forward going ride, he would jump but get very wound up or stressed. Out hacking he had to be the lead horse or he would start rearing/bronking until he was first again, and fast? He could easily have kept up with my now ex-racer.

I was just wondering if there are any Irish forums for horses etc or could somebody point me in the right direction..

I am not expecting to find anything with no passport/chip etc it would just be nice to find out who he was and his name etc I named him Harley, my Harley baby :)

www.stabletostable.com is an Irish Horse Forum. Its a pity so much time has past and here in Ireland a lot of the horse industry is via contacts and word of mouth rather than forums IMO. It is possible that he had done a lot of hunting since he has a few scars so maybe try www.hai.ie
Good Luck
