Just wondered if there was anyone out there that could advise on the following not so nice subject, or suggest what I can do?
More recently so, my pony has had a fairly dirty penis. By dirty, I mean an accumulation of scabby like build up and it being quite smelly.
My vet came out for my pony's routine jabs about 6 weeks ago, and I asked her to sedate him so she could give him a good clean up with a mild solution of Hibisrub. The problem has now come back again!!
I can't keep affording the vet for hygiene clean ups so to speak, and his sheath is very clean, so I'm completely baffled as to why it's so scabby and smelly again??? Thinking infection maybe, not sure??
Apart from having a sponge and a bucket to hand everytime he 'drops it out', I'm not sure what else to do, as it's clear that maybe something's not quite right up above??!!
Anyone else had this problem with their gelding?
