A long overdue GSD puppy update!

Hey all, it's been a while!

I put up a post last July about going to visit a GSD breeder, meeting the bitch he would be using and one of the bitches from her first litter. Lots of you had some great advice and (as always) it was really appreciated. The breeder was great, very open to any questions and steered me in the direction of some that I hadn't thought of.
I got to see both bitches work and was really happy with them so got my name on the waiting list! Following that, I did as much research as I could about the stud they were using and was really happy with the pairing.

Laughably, at the time I wrote about how life had been on a pretty even keel since then I've bought my own house and got a new job, all of which has been a miracle for my mental health. My 'even keel' was more of a wreck than I realised.

I'm a big believer in fate, and as frustrating and agonising as it was, the bitch didn't come into season until January. Everything seems to have worked out perfectly!

So in 3 weeks time, I'll be bringing this lovely lady home:

It is! Originally I had wanted a male and chose the name before the puppies were even born, but apparently it's traditionally female so still works perfectly!

I love the name (obviously ) mine is male and from the lion king, I didn’t know it was traditionally female, I won’t tell him his mum was Narla and I wanted a lion king name but no one seems to know where I got it from when I tell them his name!

I only found out because I googled it to see whether it had been totally made up by Disney! it's not the most feminine name, so I think he's good
Yeah, the reference seems to be lost on a lot of people!

Congratulations! Youre in for many months of pure joy with that fluffy bundle i remember when mine was a pup…i smile ear to ear seeing the pics and footage i took of her growing up. She remains adorable throughout the years, and brings joy to every day.
Zazu is a fantastic name! I hope you come back and share more pics when you get her

Strangely enough, back in the 70's/80's there was a pony at our local RC called Zazu. No idea where the owner got the name from.

The Zazous were a French punk/hippie type counterculture years ago - namechecked by the Pet Shop Boys in In The Night, the instrumental version of which was the theme tune to The Clothes Show.

So OP, you've got a cool dog with a cool name which can either derive from The Lion King or some kick-ass anti-Nazis
