I've just bought a nice head and cape mount of an Otter for the gunroom wall and the plaque is marked "Irfon 1945". I know that the Irfon is tributary of the Wye and 1945 refers to the date. I assume that it fell victim to an otterhound pack, if that's the correct term for Otterhounds, and I'm wondering if anybody would be able to identify what pack this would most likely have been? Cannot find anything substantial regarding hunting Otterhounds on the Internet, which doesn't suprise me. I'd be grateful for any ideas. Thank you.

Thank you for the reply combat_claire. I think there's a good probability it was that particular pack that hunted "my" Otter. It's travelled a bit since it's demise - I bought it in an auction in Southend-on-Sea, Essex!
