Ok so after a number of years or trundling round with my shed on wheels trailer I have finally purchased a lorry

It's currently in the garage getting a bit of work done that is too techie for me to do and then there are a couple of things that I need to do to it but we will be all ready to go by the start of the show season

Anyway my question is this... the lorry is built to carry 3 ponies, 2 facing forwards like in a trailer then one in front of them facing sideways, so if I only travel one pony in it would the pony go in forward facing, the same as when travelling one in a trailer or would I use the side facing part at the front? I am ok at transporting with a trailer but a bit novicey with a lorry

I take it there are restraining bars between the different positions. If it were me I would have him face forward as long as there is something for him to lean on.
BTW can they not all face sideways??

Im no expert but I was told by the horsebox builder when travelling one horse, travel it over the back axle. In my case this means he goes in the middle partition but then my wagon is all herringbone. I think in your case it shouldnt matter too much with a pony so I would either travel him on the right facing forwards as you would do in a trailer or in the front herringbone, which ever he prefers.

Can't really answer but I had a lorry years ago with that arrangement and had it changed round to three herringbone (although I only had one horse!) as he travelled better that way. I think Louby's answer sounds right.
