Quick question, to those of you who say you feed your horses a 'mug' of linseed for condition- is this a coffee mug size? Or one of the spillers measures?

100gms, feed by weight then you know what you are doing, it helps when you need to check on the diet, write it on a spreadsheet.

this.

Measure it out - then either find a mug that carries that amount or mark up the level on the mug.

'mug' is really shorthand for the types of quantities that are used - ie a small amount goes a long way even for a large TB rather than needing to be fed by the kilo/scoopful

Agree with measuring out 100g i use a Tupperware that is marked to that point and feed twice daily to maintain condition

I use a tea/coffee mug. IMO linseed doesn't need to be that precise (unless you're dealing with a fatty), I've fed it for 15 years in quantities from quarter mug for a chubby cob, to 6 mugs per feed for a very underweight TB. But then my feed methods are pretty slap-dash! Can confirm all horses alive and healthy ;-)

Charnwood probably is but it actually tends to be cheaper not to buy from Charnwood direct.

If you want delivered the The farm and pet place or Titmuss are probably the cheapest inc delivery however best to see if a local feed stockist can get it in.
