So from someof the fairly heated threads...I thought I'd put a happy post up for us all.

We're all here because of the horses at the end of the day....whether it's the ones you own, loan, ride, ones past or even just that friendly little cob stuck in a field down the road you see as you drive past everyday.....here's to a post just to all be joined by that one passion in our lives!

So write, post your fave pic, video or whatever of that special little neddy in your life of why he/she means the world to you :)

This is my fave pic of my special neddy, Buster :)

And my other little neddy who's now out on loan, Cassie:

So share your gee-gees! We all like a little show off time for them :P

Well... Are you sitting comfortably? Then let's begin!

First there was Gwen. A beauutiful welsh cobby thing at my RD
S, she taught me everything I know, first time bareback (ouch!), cantering taught me and everyone at the yard to jump, and I love her to bits! Sadly she passed away in December after 18 years of health and happiness teaching us numpties how to ride :D RIP gorgeous, you meant the world to me and i will never ever forget you xxx

Now Bonnie (or Evil Bonnie as I call her :D). I have had the semi-perilous pleasure of riding her and furthered my jumping education, most recently by telling me I was leaning too far forwards by dumping me :p Twas my fault realy, and she just stood like carrots wouldnt melt in her mouth, wondering why I wasn't on her

Here is Spot! He is a gorgeous 15.2 Appaloosa gelding, living in luxury in the New Forest, Burley Villa School of Riding, teaching riders to be cowgirls and boys :) He gave me my first taste of western movements, road riding and lateral work :D

Oh Mandy... I was lucky to share her for eight months, and she brought me back into riding from a long break. She was nappy and stubborn sometimes, but now she is behaving perfectly in a new home in the country, teaching two little girls to ride. I cried so much over this ponio, she was special!

Her forelock isn't ALWAYS like that :D

Finally Mitzy... I know shes not equine, but she's my best friend :D

Many many cookies for reading that!!

I have had 3 special neddies in my life =)

The first in the cob I used to loan off the riding school I learnt to ride at, Alfie .. he was young and very naughty, taught me to sit to bucks by continously showing off his handstands around the school with me, scared me at first but I soon learnt to find it fun =D Heres Alfie ...

Secondly, we have Ted =) I got him on loan in September and got on with him straight away. He's only little (12.2hh) but even with me on him he jumped 3ft which is big for me as quite a nervous jumper, but on him I felt safe =D Here is Ted ...

And last but not least ... Ethel =) Now, I've always said I dont like mares, we clash, dont ever get on with them, cant stand them ... but when this sweet filly was offered to me from work (for free!) with absolutely nothing wrong with her, how could I say no?! I've only had her just over a week so we are still getting to know eachother, but I'm hoping we will go far together =) She is the first horse I've actually owned, so she's already special to me, and so .. here she is =)

My mum had this pony Misty for my brothers and then me and she lived until she was about 30. We used to go to shows basically every weekend and we seriously rocked the gymkhanas, we were such champs! She was a spectacular little girly and utterly gorgeous.

She died many years ago but this is me riding her when I was little. I think she is in her early twenties in this photo - she looked in excellent condition until the day she died.

First ponies are never forgotten! Without Misty I wouldn't be riding today.

Aw bless her holly! Cutie.

You just don't seem to get the 'old school' pony club pony saints that go on forever anymore do you :(

This is Roger he's my first pony, will be 21 this year and i've known him since he was 5. He's a lovely boy to be around but can be so naughty. I love him to bits, he's not really a pony club saint but whenever friend was looking for a loan home for him i always hoped he could come to me, eventually he did and about 18 months ago she gifted him to me.

I think I'm gonna pop with all this pony cuteness around :D

I suppose Gwen was pony club saint-(ish!) She was apparently a kicker, but she never kicked with me, she taught me to sit to the occasional spooks and bucks, and literally taught us all to jump :D

Holly, Misty looks gorgeous! Such a perfect first pony, you guys looks so sweet together:)

Sorry for the smiley overload...!

Thanks for the Misty compliments, hehe. I was such a girl that I asked my mum for all our kit to be pink and purple. It wasn't so easy to get pink and purple accessories in those days so my mum dyed a sweatrug bright pink and sewed my initials on it in purple. We were soooooo cool. :P

I remember that we became real gymkhana champs for the local area (none of my doing, I just clung on and Misty did the rest, we also had someone super fast to lead me originally). Then eventually there was another girl who became pretty awesome, our biggest competition, and she had a really dark pony, near black. It was like white versus black!

Those were the days... I think Belle's a little big for bending poles!

Forgive my numptiness... belle?

Gwen was not too good at gymkhana, she walked like a complete nellyphant, she was famed for being the slowest pony on the yard! The only thing that tempted her was polos in the walk, dismount, RUN BACK race! Bareback on her was mighty fun though, a bit bony, but she was the only pony I've ever ridden bareback, so what do I know :p

Bonnie and I had major fun times on Sunday though, we had to go no-handed over trot poles, and I honestly thought I would die! She has a tendency too... well, lunge evilly at other ponios and bite their bums , not too good for either of us, but she was FAB and didn't do anything naughty, just trotted purrfickly :D

Misty looks an absoloute dream, and what a fab mum to make you your own rug in your colours :)

Tiggy - my first ever really owned all by me at the grand age of forty-five (she was four) :D

Dizzy, the beautiful one :D The first day back on board after cracking my arm :D

Little Cob, because he has made D1 so happy :D

Little Lad, when he wasn't being a prat (or less of a prat than he can be lol)
DSCF0017.jpg

And this is what he could be like on the lunge... (and under saddle!)

And Big Cob, because he catches me when I jump him (D1 on in this piccy, any of me jumping would be just tooooo horrendous lol)

Belle is my horse now and she's 16.2! :) Glad you had fun with Bonnie... naughty little miss chasing bottoms, hehe.

I had a pony after Misty called Sir Lancelot and he was a fan of the "run back" approach in races. We did the 'walk, trot, canter' race where you have to circle if you are in the wrong pace. We pretty much just circled for the walk and trot bits and then FLEW like lunatics towards the finish line. My brother stood on the line in an attempt to stop us as Lancelot had nooooo brakes. I loved the feeling though... approaching the cone/pole/whatever at the end and knowing that as soon as we turned we could just zoom.

Oh! Then I think we should make a gymkhana for horses, I'm sure there would be lotsa takers, specially here on the forum :D And it might be me, but I think Bonnie seems to go for boy's bums more! Poor Dawi, lucky he's such a lump, he pretty much ignored her advances :p
