Hi
Planning on buying a 3.5t lorry yay! Getting a few quotes for insurance and breakdown. A plan whom I use for a few things have given a good quote, but they use a Rescue services called Silver Knight, and frankly I cant find any info about them!
I did query it but the guy on the phone was very positive about them.

Anyone use/recommend A Plan or Silver Knight Breakdown Rescue services or best to stick to Anthony Evans (used them in the dim and distant past!)?

Thank you :)

Avoid!!!! We took out a plan through A plan insurance...Silver Knight was the breakdown cover. We broke down (snapped steering rod), called Silver Knight and they had no record of our policy, said they couldn't help me at all! This was despite me having a policy in my hands at the time. They refused to send anyone out, said it was an admin error etc but basically they couldn't help. My husband called them, went crazy and they agreed to send someone out to us but we had to pay £320 up front or they wouldn't come out. 3hrs later someone arrived...but the tow truck wasn't suitable so they had to get a bigger one...in the end I had to wait in the middle of nowhere with poor phone signal for 8 HOURS by myself until we were towed. Thankfully we were a mile from our yard so I could unload the horse and walk him back up the lanes to the yard while I was waiting.

We did get a email with an apology, our £320 refunded and £50 compensation for the hassle as they admitted it was an error on their part. I'd never recommend them I'm afraid!

Oh dear that sounds shocking! Jolly lucky you were so close to your yard. I think the fact that no-one seems to know anything about them puts me off the policy. Think I will stick with Anthony Evans! Thanks for taking the time to respond :)

Try Equesure. They did my 3.5t insurance and recovery with ERS for £330 a couple of months ago. I really shopped around this year and they were by far the best price.

I was with A Plan for the last couple of years but they also screwed up my breakdown policy. Luckily I didn't find out the hard way but I was furious with them that they hadn't given me adequate cover as I was so so specific and had been told I was covered with ERS, which was apparently true for only part of the year... Shame as otherwise I usually like A Plan.
