Went out for a hack today with my OH, we are both compulsive Hi-viz wearers and so are the ponies.

While we were tacking up the people who own the land next to ours went out...wearing Hi-Viz and a couple of friends turned up on their mighty cobs, all Hi-Vizzed up :D While we were out, we saw eight other riders all of them wearing Hi-Viz.

Seems like darker afternoons and common sense have prevailed on the riders round here. Thank goodness.

You know, everyone that I know around here wears Hi Viz - even in the summer. Perhaps we're a bit more cautious because we're really rural, lots of blind bends and absolutely no street lighting.

Yay!! It's nice to meet fellow hi- vizers out n about :). It's amazing how quickly it gets dark at the moment and it's just not worth the risk!! I wear my hi viz all year round not just the darker winter months!

I love hi-viz and really don't understand why some people are so anti wearing it. I am always buying bits and pieces, pink for me and Dolly, and yellow for the boys.

I always wear it and am succesfully managing to spread my obsession around the whole yard :)

I think there is only one person left now who doesn't bother.

Tried the Insurance track on that one, only to be told she didn't bother with insurance either anyway.

Great to hear that more people are using it! Especially with the bad weather. I've made a few High Viz Signatures, which I think I might use :) They're in the High Viz Post in PG, feel free to help yourselves. :)

I went out today with my large flourescent jacket and a car bumped us up behind. Luckily my pony was not hurt and is an unflappable kind so he just jumped sideways. Police will be onto him as soon as I find the cars reg no. (luckily its a local car that I recognise so I just have to track it down).

That's terrible!
Glad you and your pony are ok.
(just remembering the time I was trying to run over a rat in a traffic jam and bumped into the car in front and all the fuss that was made about that!)
Claim on their insurance for panic attacks, whiplash and anxiety!

Holy Moly

I'm assuming the driver was either drunk, a registered blind person or sending a text.

Glad you are both OK.
