I thought it's about time we had a positive loan story on here.

As some of you may remember, my forester FINALLY went out on loan last December after struggling to sell/loan him the 6 months previously. He is a handful, and needs a certain sort of person. He is a serious jumper, but also a great games pony.

They took him the day they tried him. He was a s*d that day and I couldn't believe they liked him. He doesn't load, yet walked straight in the trailer.

I went to see him 2 weeks later and he had settled, lost a tonne of weight and looked amazing. After some initial ups and downs, including nearly having him back because they nearly gave up, they are now FLYING and have really bonded. I am so proud. They have so much fun on him, all three daughters ride him and even though he's a handful, they think it's fun...which is amazing because a few years ago I thought it was fun too!

Now...here is his loan in pictures up to last sunday..! They are going to buy him when they sell their other pony, and he couldn't be in a better home. They are good riders, and enjoy horses. They don't have tonnes of money, don't always do things by the book but who cares? :D

His first hack..

And FINALLY! Winning his first Mounted games comp since competing in his last one 6 years ago! He was perfectly well behaved and really fast!

I love the naughty pony! :D :D :D :D

I love naughty ponies too. They will have tons of fun for a long time.

My most memorable pony was my first.... bucked me off at least once everytime I rode it, would occasionally buck rear and bolt..... I now have a excellent seat. :)

I think its probably the reason behind me always getting youngsters.... I like their quirks.

Aww that's lovely, he looks like a fun, forward pony even in the pics! It's great that you found a family with not one little girl but three who all love him and will hopefully mean he's in that home much longer!

Aww! A great story and some lovely pics! I especially like the last one! I too have had a great time with loan ponies - had some fab ones as a kid and now have a lovely big mare on loan from a gem of a woman who never interferes, doesn't want her back, and is a pleasure to catch up with for a chat and an update. I also had my yellow fella out on loan for a few years before he retired. It took three tries to find the right home as, like your chap, he wasn't a push button at all. I knew we'd got the right one when the lady who took him was trying him out and he did one of his godawful spook, spin, leap performances - she just laughed. She had him for five years and took care of him brilliantly. He only came home when it was time to retire. So pleased things are working out with your boy too!

Awww he looks cute and so glad you have a successful loan story!

I like the quirky ones too although I have always been too big and lanky for a wee pony, boring otherwise!
