I just had to share the joy in having such a lovely, gorgeous, friendly, happy little horse. I worry constantly about if I am doing the right thing, if I am going to fast or too slow with him, if I am going to spoil him by not being the best rider in the world, but every time I worry he comes out and does something to make me smile. I backed him myself last year, but by the end of the summer he was still so little and unbalanced he couldn't even trot a circle properly. He has been turned away from Sept to Feb, long reined for a month and now has been back under saddle for the last 2 weeks. Today he worked through a whole walk-trot test, forwards, happy and confident, no spooking, broncing or faltering, even though it was windy as anything. I couldn't be prouder of him!
He may not be easy, but he is the most delightful young horse I have ever met.
