I need to keep repeating this today, I've got to poo pick for 6 horses in 5 aches it hasn't been done in a few days due to weather.. then take out the spooky, nappy bucky Clydesdale alone because his pal is lame. Ahhh it's a privilege not a chore, it's a privilege not a chore... maybe that should be a mantra for the winter months ahead!

As someone housebound with a slipped disc and a one month old baby and a dog who wonders why I'm not taking him out for walks, I would kill to poo pick a field right now!

Thanks for the reminder! Its hard to remember especially when they decide to place their poo in the longest bit of grass in the field or the bugs decide to flatten an otherwise perfectly formed one, or when its chucking it down with rain, or when as happened yesterday my boy decides to walk from the field, through the muddy path up to the newly picked yard to do his poo whilst I was in the field poo picking. Gotta wonder what goes on in their brains, bless!! At least its sunny at the moment .....!

I'm thankful I don't have to poo pick during the winter :) I feel for you there!

As someone else said, I always think to myself 'I'm burning calories'. Whenever I complain about the horse my other half is always quick to remind me that 'it's a privilege, not a chore'.

As soon as you start feeling like horses are a chore you should just give up in my opinion. Fair point, everybody is entitled to a couple of days feeling *urgh* but the majority of horse ownership should be fun.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy a bit of poo plucking it was just a lot of poo be plucked today. The calories burnt is always what I think about especially when I start to get tired as I love to use my horses as my source of exercise, I bloody hate the gym :p

It doesn't help though that the cheeky little sec d lives to tip the wheelbarrow over so I end up chasing him about which he loves haha

I'm always swearing at the muck heap that's good fun and I enjoyed listening to my neighbour screaming at his son and the cows as they were moving them.

In no way was this post me saying my horses are a chore but ***** shovelling is something we can always have a little moan about on the odd occasion....
