About clipper oil, of all things!!

Is horse clipper oil somehow different to dog clipper oil? My brain tells me, in principle, they should do the same job to lubricate the blades but now I'm not sure.

The reason I ask is I've been using Lincoln clipper oil (horse stuff) on the dog blades since I ran out of my 'proper' Oster oil and my clippers don't seem to be working quite the same. The blades are sticking a bit, even when oiled and I'm wondering if this is putting too much strain on the clipper motor???

Clippers are Oster soft touch, twin speed and the blades are genuine Oster. I'm going to get blades sharpened anyway but any recommendations for the best oil would be gratefully received because, quite frankly, clipping the Rufus dog has been hard going this morning!!

I had a pair of Oster Golden clippers for about 15 years before they died and they never gave me an ounce of bother - probably just don't make 'em like they used to lol.
