Hi! Im going to the british equine events september spectacular show with my cob on sat. Id like it to go as well as possible. Iv entered in ridden cob and this is my usual class so thats fine but i also entered in Riding club horse, i need some tips on this as its my first attempt at that class. How big will the jump be? iv seen them from tiny to really quite big (for me and my horse anyways) when watching classes so would like to know what to expect? Also should i jump the jump once or twice? from trot and canter or just canter?... can you tell iv not done RCH before lol? Any other tips much appreciated...

Also, my mum is taking her in inhand cob and iv given her lots of tips and help but i may have left some things out so if anybody has any tips for inhand showing id be very grateful.

Also im going in equitation and was wandering if the effectiveness of my aids and how well my horse goes from them counts? also does this count more or less than my position?

Sorry for the rambling post, thanks for reading :)

Hi, it should be in your schedule how big the jump will be if not then ring up and ask, at least you know before hand what is expected of you. Personally i would jump the fence once from canter, but if you think your horse may have a look dependant on the size of the fence maybe jump in trot then change the rein and come in canter. Try not to make the show too long just like a normal show but incorporate the jump.

with regards to your mum, make sure she stands the horse up well and runs directly towards the judge on her individual show, also that her clothing compliments the horse.

equitation is judged on your position and effectiveness as well as how the horse goes. so basically if you do a good show and remember to sit up and make it all look effortless you should be fine!!

hope some of this helps and good luck!
