A friend's horse had it's teeth done about 6months ago and the vet found a loose tooth, he told her it was ok to leave until the next time they are checked (in 6mths) but he would take it out at that point.
She had the teeth looked at again today by the same vet and when she booked the appointment she told them it was for a tooth extraction aswell as rasping.
The vet came and sedated the horse ready to take out the tooth but when he looked he said it was no longer loose so no need to remove it.

Has anyone heard of this before, a tooth that was loose, but 6 months later wasn't? If so how does this occur (the vet just said 'sometimes this happens')?

Thanks in advance!

In people it is possible for loose teeth to settle back into the gum, years ago my daughter was hit in the mouth by a door handle (I didn't ask how) and loosened all her front teeth, the dentist just let them settle and she didn't lose even one, she was lucky
Don't see why it can't apply to animals

Flirty - I guess you could be right. I've never heard of it in humans either but the more I talk to people the more I hear it can happen
