Those of you on part (5 day) livery.
Do you pay for this all year round even if your horse is turned out most of the summer?

Do you pay extra for your horse to be looked after on christmas day/new years, do you expect the work just to be done as normal or do you count it as one of your "DIY days"? If you do pay extra, how much?

Also, how much do you pay, and what is included?

I'm a YO.
Part 5 day livery clients pay the same amount all year round, regardless of turn out.
I don't charge extra for Christmas or New Year, unless they work out on Sat/Sun, but the work at Xmass is taken to bare minimum - skip out, turn out, feed and water, no extras.

The basic option is £64 per week or £277 per month and includes:

stable
turn out and bring in 5 days a week
mucking out as above
feeding hard feed (if required) 7 days a week
ad lib hay/haylage
1 bale of shavings a week
basic bucket feed or balancer+handfull of chaff
attendance for vet/farrier etc.
use of arena

exercise/schooling/walker/solarium and weekend services are charged extra, as is wormer and any specialist feed.

My part livery is £70 a week same all year round. horses are out in the summer 24/7 but I still check them twice daily, bring in and hold for farrier/vet/dentist etc. they are mucked out Monday to friday, all haylage included (ad lib) 2 bags of bedding, turned out and brought in Monday to friday and rugs changed as necessary. On a weekend we turnout so owner only needs to muck out and bring in.

We don;t however include bank holidays in the part livery. So owners are responsible for Christmas Day, Boxing day, New years Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday and then any other bank holidays. We will happily do them for them but do charge extra.

YO Too - my 5 day liveries all pay the same throughout the year regardless of turnout. They may swap to DIY if they so wish but coming back to 5 day part depends on space and availabllity- they would have to wait for a space again so many do not as they can't do DIY all year and most of them don't want their horses out 24/7 anyway! . For me Christmas day, new years day and Bank holidays are DIY although I will of course do horses for clients and just charge the extra but they have to understand that it is a basic day, skip, turnout etc as I like a life tooo !!!

Basic option is £85 pw inc a basic hard feed, Hay/ haylage and one bedding bale use of all facilities when not in use by myself (arena, horsewalker, XC course, Show jumps and wash bay with hot water wash and drying room, washing machine for lightweight rugs and saddlecloths. Storage and trailer / box parking. Any additional feed/ supplements etc is supplied by the owner, wormers etc all supplied.

Other extras available - exercising, lessons, schooling, tack cleaning etc - price ranges from £15ph to £40 depending on service.
