A quick one re. knee boots shopping!

Desperate for some knee boots for Bud, after the tripping post yest we had a lovely ride (rode more forward, Buds didn't trip once) but my y/o's mare stumbled and fell smack onto both knees, que very swollen skinned knees quite terrible to witness!
So now I really want Buds to have some, the brushing/knee boots pref!

Seen westropp ones. seem most popular.

Question!! Are the breathable? Or do they heat the leg alot? And are the soft at the back as don't want them rubbing.

Or there is the caldene ones! Double the price, but they say they are breathable!! And alow air circulation, does anyone have these? Are they better or not worth it?

The only ones that will protect your horse in a fall are the Jeffries ones. They are called Kneecap and are made from Leather/Felt. www.ejeffries.co.uk
Have been using them for years.

Do they stay up though? I would be looking at using them for all types of hacking and perhaps hunting, and don't want them to end up round his ankles!
My friends horse fell in the westropp ones and didn't suffer any ill effects although apparently the boots had to be replaced as they had scuffed and torn on the knees.

Anyone else recommended them? Xx

I've got some of the JHL ones they're the old fashioned style leather and felt ones, I wear them hacking everyone we go out they've never slipped or fallen and they don't get hot. After having two horses slip and go down onto their knees on the road just outside the yard I don't leave the yard without them on. Theyre really good quality for the price IMO.

I have the jefferies ones for driving. There definately worth spending the extra cash on, they last for years, don't slip or rub and i've never had a problem with overheating with them.

Had a quick scout on eBay can only see the flappy ones which say they aren't for hacking, will keep a close eye, don't quite have 80 odd pound spare atm bit they certainly look the part so will be looking into this for the future! Otherwise be eBay stalking! Thanks x
