how long do you leave them out for? like, do you make enough to last a few days and leave it out, or do you just make enough for the feeds you need for that day?
I make feeds up the evening before . . . no further ahead than that. Dinner and breakfast. End of. I do, though, make up haynets in advance. But haynets don't sit around and get sloppy and possibly ferment.
Beet pulp i make a few days worth.
lucie nuts i make a few days worth.
I use rhe green recycling bins the council give our to store mine in.
Fast fibre i soak just befire i use it.
Back to the topic, feed fast fibre and I just make it as I need it as it is so quick to soak...when I used to feed speedibeet I made up a couple of days in advance, but only in winter, not when it was warm weather as I was worried it would go manky......
It differs depending on the weather really. I tend to make up a batch to last a day or two in the winter but I find when the weather is hot then it goes horrible fast so I just do it as and when. The other thing is when its really cold then I add hot water just before I feed so she gets a nice warming porridge.
Fast fibre i soak just before i feed as it soaks up realy quickly. Speedi beet i soak in an evening before i do the evening feed and get it ready for the morning.
