I am trying to find a niche market for my business studies course at school and I don't have a clue! Could you help me? What could tack shops offer that they currently don't? A "build your own rug" service, similar to the teddy bear factory? (you may think this is insane!) or possibly a mobile tack shop that does yard visits, saving you time when you need items for you or your horse?

Please leave me your ideas and I'd really appreciate it!

There was a mobile tack shop near us, but it isnt there anymore.

Horses are big these days and I was toying with the idea of a tackshop for big horses.

Rugs for 6'9" +
bits 6" +
Saddles in extra wide +
Horse boots in generous sizes etc

How about a complete mobile valet service?
Either for the horse? (including clipping, trimming, washing, grooming etc)
or horseboxes/trailers?
or even tack/leatherwork?
It would be awesome having someone able to come to your yard to do this sort of thing!!

A mobile tack shop sounds like a good idea !

How about stocking clothing sizes that are either for the very tiny rider & some for the larger ones as there is often not much choice ?

Like the rug idea too - not all equines come in standard sizes . Hope you've got a sewing machine !

Good luck with your studies

I like the idea of a mobile valet service - It would need some quick washers to make it viable mind! Maybe people could shop at the same time?

I think the stocking of large/little clothes would cater for a niche market which is exactly what I'm after.

Another thing I was considering is stocking things for eventing, as the tack shops in our area don't really cater for this, but I found that very few people I know actually event.

I was considering an affordable showing range as a lot of showing stuff costs quite a bit i found!
