.....me jumping and in a jumping saddle too

Archie has been jumped under saddle probably 3 times and the last time i jumped was about a year ago

I generally dont 'do' jumping but fancied doing something different today as my lesson was cancelled

So put some poles out and did some trot/canter poles which hes fine with as i normally do pole work a few times a month with him included in our schooling. He will quite happily 'pop' over 1.25m loose jumping but jumping with someone on his back hes totally different. Anyways stuck up a tiny (and i mean tiny!!) cross pole and it took me about 15mins (not joking) for me to get him over it. Then after he was fine one way i then had to go through the battle on the other rein - lovely horse

Then by the time he had given in he was quite knackered as id already lunged him for 45mins in the pessoa this morning and then apparently he'd been galloping around in his field aswell

Anyways, heres a few vids - yes the fences are tiny, yes im crap at jumping and yes i did quite enjoy it in the end once he was going nicely over them

There was no point me wacking up a big fence as even tho he did eventually give in i didnt want to push it when he was tired and going nicely by the end.

Hes loose jumping next weekend then il try and jump him again over the bank holiday weekend at some point

Yes it is - it used to be Catherston Stud and is still run by Jennie LCs daughter, Anne. Theres about 40 stables at the moment (they are currently renovating some more), and 2 indoor schools (the one in the vids being the big one), one outdoor 60x 28m and a 3mile gallop

Did the stud get sold to the circus people? You've got no excuses now not to do the combined training classes now, horse that jumps and a saddle!

Hurstbourne belongs to this guy called Tim something - he owns lots of land around the area aswell. Anne owns the cottage she lives in, which is onsite, and she runs the yard for Tim and his wife.

Indoor is fab - especially as it started hailing at one point, i was so glad to have a roof over my head

Did you have a good weekend? Fingers crossed for O tomoro x

Look at you!

You look great! I have to confess I actulally jumped Herbie the other day, the first time I seriously left the ground in a good few years, but I really enjoyed it so may consider a boit of combined training if I'mfeeling really keen!

Archie looks like he loves his jumping too.
