A return to fox hunting and perhaps the beginning of a passion?

My great grandfather used to be a Master of Foxhound, after his death however my family moved to europe, I am now a student in england and soon a citizen again. This was the short version.

Now I know absolutely nothing about Fox Hunting but I would be delighted to find out more about the sport. What do those blue jackets mean? What does my great grandfather's red jacket signify? Why is it that amongst his things I also found a copper horn and two whips made of leather, bone and silver? What is with the white breeches (one would expect those to be hard to wash after a day of hunting?), tie and shirts? How many hounds are there in a hunt? Where do hunters buy their hunting coats (not sure what it is called) and other accessories? Thank you!

Eponym... It sounds like he was huntsman for someone - do you know who your GGF hunted with or when? what colour are the whips?
