Any ideas, someone suggested the Rambo sweetitch rug but at £110 i was hoping there may be a cheaper alternative. He doesnt have sweet itch but doesn't want anything heavy it is purely to stop the sun bleaching his coat and turning him into a ginger!

I "think" as its not the mesh type fabric like the fly rugs and it goes over their ears this would cover most of his body. Might have to take a ride to horsey shop - I try to avoid like the plague as everytime i go i seem to need lots of things, that conveniantly i hadnt needed till that point

A Kool Koat. It is white and blue check very thin rug and reflects the sun. This is what I used on my dark bay when I had intentions of showing him as he used to turn red/light bay and he is a very sweaty pony. Now he is a field ornament I dont bother.

Let me know if you want one in a 6'0 or a 6'3" (cant remember which size I bought) as I have a spare which has never been used.

Sol has the sweet itch hoody and I can't recommend it highly enough , definitely worth the money (although I only payed £90 for mine !)

Tell me more he is 6'3"

The ones I would recommend to stop bleaching the coat are the Amigo Bug Rug which reflects UV rays and the Rambo Dustbuster plus but I would have thought that most decent fly rugs would do the job

Even better, here it is:

My boy would sweat under a fly rug (he really is an odd little thing) but is fine under this. I have the standard one though, as they didnt have the combos when I bought mine but these look good, and the newer airstream one might be perfect for you.

Just placed a bid on the Pessoa Sweetitch rug on ebay not keen on the colour but looks very similar to the rambo just a lot cheaper. If i dont win it i'll come back to you CBAnglo (check size when you get chance)

Thanks everyone for your advice, and i didnt deliverately go for a brand noone had mentioned, but your opinions helped me figure it out what i was looking for

Taffster - I think you are better off looking at the ones on Equestrian Clearance as mine is an older model without a hood.

Good luck on your ebay bid!
