The time has come to sell my beloved saddle. Its two years since Simon died and i have no use for it. I wanted to keep it as it means so much to me but i jkust dont have a use for it and its gathering dust

Ive no idea on saddle prices and wondered whether you peepes could give me some idea. Its not a brill one but its in excellent condition and ive always looked after it. Its extreemly comfy and fitted my horse well.

Its a 17" medium fit havanna working hunter/ show saddle made by Palaton Saddlery ( model DEL WH?? )

Its is excellent condition bar a little dent in the seat flap as shown. There are no scuffs on the Cantle and there are slight marks as you would expect where the stirrup leathers go. There are no marks that can be seen when sat in it.

I also have the stirrup leathers and two Saftey stirrups to go but not sure whether to sell these seperatley or not???

Why is'nt it a wide 18"???????

I think you could get up to £200 for it on ebay (I am a saddle tracker!!!!!) but clean and oil it even more first. Would sell irons and stirrups sep myself

Its a lovely saddle! I'd say probs £200 - £250ish!! Give it a good clean and oil and it'll fly! I'd suggest selling irons and leathers seperately x

Thanks!!! Yes it does need more oil, id just dragged it out the garage for the pics. Its quite sad really its very sentimental but it hurts more seeing it go to waste

I had exactly the same rench when it came to selling my old boys saddle but decided its quite a large item to be hanging around - I do have his bridle hanging in our lounge though - could that be a solution, do you have Simons bridle still???

On the plus note though I paid £150 for his saddle which was at the time 3yrs old and was a kiln gp (heaven knows why it was so cheap cause it was a lovely saddle

) and sold it 10yrs later for £360

Have you tried your local saddlers??

Hi, yes ive got his bridle and his leather headcollar which i am going to keep. Ive not tried any saddlers yet as i only made my mind up today to sell it, thats my next post of call but wanted to go with an idea of price.
