After taking a colli from the pound, and socialising her, to secure a foster home., on her pts day.....I decided to help a dog that had been in the pound for 6 months
crazy.gif
, just over a year old
crazy.gif
, the kennel staff said, he was savage, and would kill a dog, if he got the chance......part of the problem, this younf lad, was never given the chance to sniff another dog or play or socialise.

Here he is......he has been a pleasure to train, very responsive, lots of well deserved exercise, and some decent grub....does wonders.

Cala thats amazing.. He's obviously relaxed by his last pic.. got his twinkle out!

The other are looking good..

Thankyou GB......I felt, he needed some desperate help......the pound piccies took, made him look like a pit fighter, clearly putting people off, and the kennel staff are terrified to allow the dogs contact......so he obs became frustrated, by his barrier, cage door, and was displaying, nothing other than frustration.

I will give myself a pat.....Im not a bull breed fan at all

Have just posted pics on the rescue site I go on, they are also very suprised, as they saw, his origional stance, condition.....I hope this will secure the lad a home, or a foster, as no one would touch him when he was in the pound.....and we cannot take him on and offer back up, as we are packed......so just away to try and help him on his way.

I wouldn't worry about pictures on your old whippet Cala, I've never seen a true malnutritioned dog with such a shiny coat, just don't believe that could be combined.

But Cala, you seem to have developed a habit of luring people to view your post expecting to have their blood frozen to ice, only to become all Oh-ing and Ah-ing once they view your photos.
Out of curiosity, is male nipples supposed to look like that?

Well Cala what can I say
blush.gif
, I've owned bitches for 19 years know, so I hope you forgive me. The closest I've came to what you call a tiddler was years ago, when we regularly helped an ex neighbour with dog-sitting their Cairn Terrier and I had to remind myself that you can't scratch a male dog just anywhere on the tummy.

Now I have a new question, how has the male pride of dogs ended up being called for what my dictionary and Wikipedia insist is nothing but a small fish?

Ugly git ain't he

Poor little chap, not surprised he was pissed off after being stuck in kennels for 6 months with a 'savage dog' tag!
Well done you for seeing past that ugly mug and giving him a chance
smirk.gif

He looks very happy with you
grin.gif

Will you keep him or rehome him?

Agree re: looking a bit Dogue De Bordeaux - although he also looks exactly like what the boys that live near me call 'red nosed staffy's'. I met one in the park a while ago - and the 18 year old in charge of it told me to keep my dog away because red nosed staffy's are the most agressive there are (yes - he was proud of that...)

sadly for him (or not sadly, actually) the dog was lovely and waggy - and didn't appear aggressive at all. We let our dogs meet on the lead - and they were fine... leaving 18 year old wondering why his fighting dog he just bought is so friendly
frown.gif

He looks lovely and chilled out. I looke dafter a mastiff x ridgeback last year and he didn't look dissimilar. Well done you!

We cannot take him on, he is destined for a non destructive kennels, but I took him on for the lady that helps the pound dogs, to help him secure a broader variety of homes, and loose the dog killer tag.

He had, that same morning I took him, pinned a shepherd down, and the staff, could not get him off
crazy.gif
seems they do not try hard enough

It just goes to show that it's not the dogs fault and with correct training and handling all dogs are great. Well done.

100% agree, but still would like a ban on the breeds, *everyone gasps*

PS - can I have your brindle please? She/he would fit nicely in with my two

I love the mastiff breeds, and would hate to see the majority of big soppy things banned. My bullmastiff bitch was the most dignified but kind and soppy girl you could ever hope to meet.

Well done Cala
