I have acquired a frank baines dressage saddle, 17 W (I think).

How much do these go for, second hand? My saddler left it with me, then swanned off abroad. I didn't buy it, but I know he *was* going to take it part ex for my stubben siegfried jumping, which was rather old, but lush. I think I paid £200 for that(ish). So i don't know how much this saddle is worth.

It's pretty new, good condition, and very very comfy! I'm not actually selling it, as I may use it, but it'd be nice to know how much money I am sitting on (literally..!). Plus saddler may actually want it back! I got a phonecall from him about a month ago asking how things were, but he didn't mention the saddle or money owed or anything like that.

Sweet lord - really?!

Well, mine is probably an old model, or not in fashion, or downright dangerous, so no doubt I will miss out on the much needed pennies

They are VERY nice saddles but sadly they don't sell as well as the branded rubbish out there simply because they're not as well know. The Swain and Humphries and Baines saddles are a million times bettter than the likes of Pessoa, Stubben and Albion and should be worth a lot more but don't sell nearly as well second hand

They are desirable to those who know about saddles but because there isn't much competition for wanting to buy them the price doesn't reflect that. You'd probably get £400 for it on ebay, possibly more as it's a more desirable size. If it's a balance saddle it's worth a bit more.
