Oh my! It's getting closer....!:eek::eek::D:D:D

The papers have arrived, as has the Day Ticket. D1 has her gear, I even remembered to get her some gloves! lol

So, now it's the bridle... BC has a Mexican grackle, which is not The Thing, so we need a new one... Going to buy a nice new one for the lad as he has such a lovely head, and he's being such a star, and D1 is so excited, as is D2 who can't wait to take the piccies :D :D :D

The only thing is, which one??? All I know is that is has to be workmanlike and plan and flat and have a wide cavesson noseband... All the ones I've seen have Flashes (blah). I can have a Morris and Nolan one made up at Risley, but that wil be about £120, so if there is anything suitable a tad(!) lower in price, that would be wonderful :D. He will be wearing a Pelham (luckily goes really well in it :D). I'll give it to Friend afterwards as a Thank You for lending him to D1 and being such a star :D :D :D

look on ebay i got a brand new havanna english hunter bridle with reins for £25 - made by ariona.
really nice too!!!

I rang these lovely people when I was struggling to find a suitable bridle for Bentley Big Head

The chap was absolutely lovely and told me to send over his measurements and he would make me a flat hunter noseband *for £25!!!!*

...I'm embarrassed to admit I found a whole (oversized) english leather bridle on ebay for £12 and bought that instead :o but I've heard great things about Fylde and am happy to recommend them :D

It depends on how much you want to spend and the quality that you need, for my cob i used a cheap kincade double bridle for a couple of years which cost £35 but after it had been cleaned up etc it looked the part then i got a made to measure for my birthday from a guy who has a shop on ebay who is master saddler, his shop is called MRH saddler and it cost me £85 to get my bridle made for me because i wanted a wider noseband etc. the quality was fantastic, infact i sent them an email yesterday to get a price for making me an inhand bridle for my welsh D.

K - ta hun :D. I'll have a look when I get home tonight :D

C - I'll give them a call this afternoon - thank you :D

B - I'll have a look at his this evening - thanking you :D

P - there's a lovely range, ta :D

Try Heritage Saddlerly on ebay

Marlow Heritatge Saddlery

He does all sizes, inc outsizes. English leather AND english made. I got a bridle from him a while ago and it's lovely! really nice leather and a brilliant price too.

Bear in mind it NOT the same brand as Heritage, also sold on ebay - Marlow Heritage tack is english leather AND english made, and much higher quality too. I've got bridles from both and whilst the cheaper heritage tack is ok, it can't compare.

If you're struggling then I have Monty's you can borrow. It's full size and very adjustable so should fit.................. only problem is do you need black or brown? He won't be needing it for a while and it's quite smart and has brought us lots of luck

Looks like this and it's black and you don't have to have the bling browband or rugby pelham bit lol

I have a Flyde hunter bridle on Stinky and I am so pleased with it that I have just ordered a XF one for Farra with plaited reins - not cheap but are soooo good. Whole lot was in your price range and the quality is super. I use 2" nosebands on them both with 3/4" bridlework which is great for cobs and heavy horses.

You also never have any problems selling Flyde stuff second hand as it holds is value and is much sort after.

They are very helpful if you call them and you get the stuff within a day or so most times.

JH - thank you :). I will look when I get home :)

K - Derby County :)

KB - another one to look at this evening, thank you :D

AD - hm, can I please the Fifth??? :D

W - you star! Ta (need black :)) :D. Why won't Mont be needing it??? Is he okay? D2 will be quizzing me :o

TF - more to look at :D. Thank you indeedy :D

That's my local saddler, can't rate his work highly enough, shame he has such a **** website, but that's not the important bit!!:D

He's had a mysetery lameness and we've had x-rays, scans and now £200 shoes (ouch) Vet thinks it's soft tissue damage which I suppose is better than a lot of things it could be but he's on the easy list even if the shoes work for now.

Just let me know if you need it!

I love the Fylde leatherwork and they are happy to mix and match bridle parts if needed and are quick to deliver.

Can also recommend MRH Saddler :)
