A "Showing Cane" or "Dressage Whip" for little ones showing ??

Hello,
My 8 year old daughter is starting the showing season in two weeks time ....first ridden/walk & trot/fun classes etc. Nothing posh or too competitive, we just loved doing it together last year. This year I am just trying to get all the right equipment from the start and just wondered what "whip" would be correct....(she def needs one!) We got penalised at shows last year with her pink sparkly one ) I have a "cane" which I used for lead rein but it just looks like a brown stick....would this be acceptable??

Sorry its a very minor query but am for once trying to be prepared and organised , so looking forward to the summer shows xxxx

A cane is fine. You wouldn't be able to use your dressage whip anyway, too long.

Cane is fine but just for astetic purposes. If your daughter needs back up of stick short one or schooling one is totally acceptable at local level.

A straight cane is tricky for little ones to hold. I bought a show cane/shirt whip which can't slip out if lo's hand, but looks the part.

I had a can for my daughter when she was showing but it always used to slip out her hand.
In the end a bought a standard whip but brown so looked smart but was the same as carrying her normal day to day whip she never got marked down for it been at higher level.
