I have never shown before, other than the odd riding horse class. I have always competed in dressage and showjumping. So can anyone suggest classes for an unbroken rising three year oldWB x TB in the Spring? She's a buckskin. Thanks.

ETA: What to wear? How to prepare?

I'm not very good at knowing what classes to enter, but am very excited for you, have been following your posts and she is lovey. She should do well in whatever classes you end up entering :)

I haven't shown my 2yr old yet but there are normally youngstock classes at most shows. I did take him to the BEF futurity this year though, it gave me something to work at with him (leading, loose in a school, standing up etc, watch you tube vids to get an idea) and it was a brilliant experience for him and got a vets view of him along with the panel. He did very well and I definately want to take him again next year. If you have a look at BEF Futurity there is lots of info on their website.

Aw thank you. I just want to get her out and about as much as possible before I break her in. I haven't a clue about showing though!

Thank you! I will take a look. Well done with your boy.

I wanted to do exactly the same with my boy this year, he is also 2. I think it is so important to get them out and about and used to everything. Thankfully mine is v calm and took everything in his stride at his first show, coming 1st in all 3 of his classes :) the judges commented on how well behaved he was for a first show, and I really think it's because if all the handling we did beforehand. I think the best thing was to get him out and about on the roads, seeing traffic, cows, prams, bikes etc so when the time came he couldn't care less!
