Over the hill and far awa
But on Sunday I took the Current Appy for our very first dressage outing
We did prelim 14 (I got a bit lost at the end
)
I normally ride her in a Myler pelham and you could tell we had swapped for the comfort snaffle!
She was a bit strong and our canter went to pot a couple of times and I rode like a numpty, BUT we scored 56.7%
(I think we had a lenient judge, who made some nice comments)
The mare has not travelled for five years, but loaded without a seconds hesitation, I do think that this had something to do with her travelling between two boys! She got off the waggon looking as if she had been in a sauna, and we hadn't much time to warm up. The practise area was a bit full and some people insisted on standing on the track talking to their connections.
We were called in and did our stuff, with me leaning forward like a novice and her pulling like a train
Then had to wait a good long time for the rest of our group to do their stuff, before loading up and going home. She walked up the ramp as if she had done it every day we've had her.
She is a little star and I am very proud of her
This is a very self indulgent post, but I am just so pleased (we had tried to go twice before but had transport problems, so that made Sunday all the sweeter) We also have no school to work her in, so she did very well (she hadn't been in an indoor school for five years either!)
