I have just been thinking about so called horsey friends and have just realised that my little foal is 6 months old next week and only 3 of my horsey friends have actually made the effort to come see him

There's a new baby on the block and they've not been to drool over him? What is wrong with these people?? I love any excuse to visit new horses, especially so young. Strange people...

I think we may be in need of piccies, i have somehow never seen any, come on, we will all look at him and tell you how gorgeous he is instead

CRA - if you can organise a bus, I bet most of H&H Forum members would be there in a flash to drool! In the meantime, WE NEED PICCIES!!! Is that him in your siggie? Cutie pie x

It would upset me too if I was in your shoes! Do they live nearby? Very odd indeed - any excuse to play with foals! I love babies (the animal kind anyway lol

)!! Photos defo needed! xx

I know the feeling, I've had my horse 2.5 years now, bought him as a 3 yr old and he was my first owned horse. Lots of calls from friends and stuff but still to this day none of my horsey friends have been to see him. I've been to see their horses many a time.

I have just accepted it now but my family think it's very odd.

totally sympathise...

I've wanted a horse since I was about 6 (now 30!) and spent a long time not being able to afford it (I live in a city). Finally after years of lessons, helping out at an RDA place and taking BHS lectures to make sure I was prepared and being responsible I got my first share horse around Easter this year.

Most of my family are totally uninterested (although mum mildly concerned abt me falling off) and have asked no qs at all let alone wanting to see pics/visit. Sister is too irresponsible to use contraception properly with someone she has known less than three months and is now centre of attention with the accidental pregnancy!

Finally got them to come and visit by pointing this out - but it didn't feel the same :-( it is much nicer when people pay attention becasue somethgin is significant /to you/ rather than /just/ becasue they are interested in it themselves.

Having said that HHO is not short of people wanting to see pics of your baby horsey! :-)

Are they crazy, unable to travel for timbuktu? Post some pics and we will all admire him for you. I have a friend who never comes to see me and it gets really annoying, but I spoke to her the other day and she had been away and got the ferry 20 mins from me! She couldn't even pop over then! However I have travelled 4hrs to watch her horse compete.

Thank you guys you have all made me feel much better....I thought I was being touchy...but everyone who's bought new horses I have always gone to see them to have a coo over them....blimmin eck most people are only 2-3 miles away!!

Piccies aaahhh I have some old ones of him but couldnt possible put any of him up now as he is well and truly roughing it..which is why it would have been nice for friends to have seen him when he was a true baby all sleek and shiny.not looking like a Yak

Exactly the same here. My foal is also just reaching 6 months. Everybody knows all they have to do is phone....

Fluffy Yaks are still cute, i don't discriminate!

A few of my horsey friends have shown no interest in my new shares either so i know how you feel. I can sort of understand since several of them are currently horseless, but they are always welcome to come play and be involved again. I'm used to it from my family though. But i don't care, if they are going to go on at me about boring stuff, i will just talk horses at them until it's all out and they can deal with it

Nowt stranger than folk. As they say... somewhere...
