well... can someone please give me the dunces hat!

Yesterday we drove up and stabled. Half way up i had a text from little_pink_piggies saying that the tuesday was cancelled so there was a big ponder whether we should drive the 4 hours up but we took the gamble. So got there, got mav settled in and drove over to the course at about half past 4 as they said there was going to be an announcement at 5. It was on.

walked the course and it was wet but a good covering. It was very beefy i thought but a nice jumpable course.

Morning came so we set off for the 10 min drive and got there, got the numbers, tacked up and started walking over to the dressage warm up. que the heavens opening. Went in and did quite a good test i thought. Then the rain decided to stop after my test. oh what fun it is riding in a soggy tweed!

I went over the the show jumping to watch a few going round as i missed the course walk in the morning, and this is where it goes wrong. So i thought i knew the course, went back over to the lorry, tacked up and made my way over to the warm up. He was feeling a bit lazy but nothing terrible so i went in. As soon as he went through the start he fell behind my leg and never got infront of it thus cat leaping most of the fences. After number 4 I totally forgot about number 5, went all the way round the ring and realised so did a big circle, manage to find number 5 and kept going and knocking the last fence down.

Stupid Pilot! so a lovely 14 pens for me.

After that awful time I was in such a determined mood. I went into the warm up and really kicked on. Got into the start box and went. He felt over the 1st few that mavs heart wasnt in it. He changed after the quarry at 5 thankfully and started to enjoy it. He was a bit looky at 4, an upright before the quarry, but he flew the rest. 7.6 time pens though.

So all in all it was a bot of a mixed day. I think I saw train_robber in the distance. Sorry its long!

Definitely no need for the dunce's hat - well done for completing, let alone doing a clear XC. Ugh.....soggy tweed and no doubt soggy knickers too

Alas you wont have seen me I was entered for the Tues and was CANCELLED - grump grump grump!

- I walked the PN on Monday night - and Yes that feeder two fences after the "bones" fence is usually in the Novice after the coffin - least albeit big it was straight forward.
The rest I think is a lovely course - the quarry always rides well.

Well done you for getting round must have got quite poached?

Im quite glad i didnt go up to the person and ask "are you train_robber?" She might have thought i was slightly mad.

It was very soggy but the course held well.
