A stark reminder of the personal devastation caused by 2001 F&M

Oh no, how harrowing

I've got a lump in my throat reading that.

My grandparents are quieter today too - I think it's hit them more than they are letting on

oh god, thats brought a lump to my throat too!
i seriously hope we dont have to re-live it all, There really is going to be bad times ahead unless we get it under control!...
but whats the chances.

It' s just awful to read such a harrowing account of that terrible time in 2001. You forget the scale of it all - that man slaughters animals every day, but the impact of the sheer numbers has obviously blighted his life. Here's hoping it's an isolated incident.
Just a thought; the 2001 outbreak came after a very wet winter - just a coincidence? It'd be interesting to know if there is a connection.

Poor man, and poor animals. I can't imagine being a farmer and losing all I had worked so hard for. I hope to god this is not a repeat.

That was very hard to read.

Two of my brother in laws were part of the clean up process. Going in to farms and picking up carcasses. Their stories are quite horrific which is probably why I am being so careful.

Just because the Government can't get it right, the least we can do is behave like we have common sense and sit tight. Why wait till the sh1t hits the fan big time? Grrrr!!

I was on hols in australia whenword reached us of the 2001 outbreak.
Was so surreal sat in a house by the beach in Oz knowing that back home friends and families farms were teh same as the haunting pics on the news.

really hope it doesnt spread...
