My Patterdale bitch was spayed 10 days ago and was back at the vet tonight for her check up. The vet told me that her uterus was abnormal (the dog's, not the vet's 
) and that she was on her way to an infection which was very unusual in such a young dog (17 months) I'm so happy we decided to have her spayed now rather than later, we could have lost our great wee dog.
